Ice Breaking Up on the River

There was a December thaw followed by a return to our usual cold weather and then heavy winds caused the ice to break up and pile up into what looked like sheets of glass. The challenge was to capture the colours in the ice.

I was reading the birding column in the newspaper and there was an article on herons. I opened the blinds and this one was fishing for breakfast right out back.
