Taken form the rim. There are rapids at this point. There were not many places that we could see the river. This is a long telephoto shot in rather poor light.

Took this from stop on our Grand Canyon bus tour. The Grand Canyon Village is in the foreground and Humphreys Peak near Flagstaff over 70 miles away. There was quite a lot of snow from the winter storm the day before.

Facing away from the setting sun. This was much more dramatic than the photo I took in the direction of the setting sun. We had to delay our trip to Grand Canyon by a day due to winter storm warnings.

Sharon negotiating an icy section. We couldn't take the Bright Angel Trail into the canyon due to icy conditions so had to be satisfied with the Rim Trail. We walked about 5 kms out and then back to the lodge.
